Discover Dogfish Boats
Your adventure on the water begins here.
Our Story | Larry Tribute
The Dogfish Boats story begins in 2015, when Larry Schoenmaker — founder of Cypress Designs, a custom rotomolding business in Bellingham, Washington — couldn't find a boat durable and stable enough for his demands. As a lifelong outdoorsman with more than 40 years of experience in the marine and recreation industry, he decided to build one himself. The result was Dogfish Boats: a simple, reliable craft made for fishing, hunting, exploring, and making memories on the water.
Josh & Zack
In early 2026, Josh and Zach answered the call, taking on the mission of carrying Dogfish Boats' legacy into the next chapter. Growing up in the Pacific Northwest, they understand that being on the water looks a little different for everyone and they want to show how versatile Dogfish Boats truly are. You can now find an Angler Package, meticulously built out for the avid fisher. The Crabbing Package, for just about anyone that loves catching some Dungeness crabs. The Tender Package, for those that need a tough and easy to handle boat. The Blind Package for those that prefer their catch falling from the sky. And if you just want to enjoy a day out on the water and spend some time around a campfire, we have just what you're looking for. Josh and Zach continue to innovate, and maintain the high quality craftsmanship that is standard with each Dogfish.
Why Dogfish Boats?
Dogfish Boats is a product that was designed and created after years of boating and fishing on the water. The concept behind the product line came from the idea of providing the recreational boater with an affordable alternative to the small boats and dinghies that are currently on the market.
